I will remember that horrible death

What happened to diver Mukesh Kumar was unspeakable , trapped 120ft in an underwater chamber for 72 hours after his foot got sucked into a drainage pipe . He was a diver by profession who worked for Drafting Marine Engineering Company , he and his team were sent to purulia to repair a leak in the reservoir . Diving in a pitch black vertical tunnel filled with water has its own problem , but when your foot gets stuck and your attempts to release fail , you are in deep trouble . Every workplace has its own dangers , it is the duty of the management to take necessary precautions and keep a backup plan incase something goes wrong . Something did go gravely wrong for Mukesh . He was unable to free himself from the tremendous water pressure . I can’t imagine myself being in that situation , and worse , in a state where life of one single worker is not valued .
From the start when the mishap happened it was clear that there was not enough experienced man-power and technology to save Mukhesh from that kind of a situation . Whenever divers were being sent to check him out , he grappled with them , instincts taking over him , in a desperate attempt to free himself . He was being fed oxygen from the surface , but it was not sure how long he could go on like this . Project manager , said amputation was the last resort and a move not without complications. However , it was too late to make such an attempt when the dam diver was still alive . Finally , his body was brought out today, four days after he got stuck underneath , with his leg sawed off . Had the authorities been quick to response , perhaps Mukesh could have been alive .
