From Ancient times the most important time was the coming of spring . Most Civilizations of the ancient times associated them with fertility festivals. These vibrant festivals which marks the end of winter and signifies the harvesting of winter crops. People eagerly wait for the season as it is the time to make harvesting celebrations with friends and family members. People especially in crop growing celebrate this festival with full enthusiasm and energy. Farmers evaluate the harvests and consider it as a symbol of renewal of life.
Apart from celebrating the good harvest, there are more reasons which add joy to the festival. They also celebrates fertility in families. The first marriage or birth of the male child in the family calls for celebration at this time.
The object, which will be documented in the March issue of the Journal of Archaeological Science, is made out of a large elk antler and has been radiocarbon dated to about 10,900 years ago.
