The Honey Theft

Our airship arrived at Thaneland , the very north of the Middle Kingdoms . Like every year when we pass over Thaneland , Dido trades spices , honey , dried fruits , dye for leather , fur and other seasonal in this area . A local trader Windrover Hardhorn has invited us to his place . We went there with a sackful of wax , gold coins and a jar full of honey , and an antic chest which we had picked up somewhere in a shipwreck at a floating island . We already had a lot of cabinetry in the ship so there was no need for that extra heavy trunk . It was my idea to sell of that chest without any bargaining .

His was a sort of farmhouse , with two buildings . One of which , the single-storeyed one looked more like a smithshop , I could even smell cast iron in the air . We showed him how viscous the honey was and how slowly the wax burnt . I told him that the honey was excellent for preparing honey wine . His attention , however , shifted to the little pouch of gold coins and rubies once Miku opened it to buy coffee beans from that person . After the deals were done , we packed up keeping everything inside the bulky chest , since no one seemed keen to buy it . Suspecting Mr. Hardhorn might be after our gold we pretended to keep the gold pouch inside the chest , in reality it was a fake magic one that we kept . Just as we planned to leave two nordic soldiers , fully armed stopped us at the door .

They told us they were Kings men and here to authorize a warrant against illegal use of airspace . Anky suspected it was all a fabrication of Windrover and gave him a grin look , but he pleaded he was not involved . We had to give our belongings none the less . The pouch of gold was hidden deep within a magic shroud . We felt relieved to get rid of the chest , but regretful because we were tricked and went into the ship to consult with Dido .

After we told Dido what we had been through , it was decided to retaliate against those thieves , and teach them a lesson . At Night Dido and her first mate and lover , the Celt – Burundi went for charting the whole area when they noticed a number of nordic warriors moving out of our trader’s house carrying mugs of beer . They decided to make their move . The nords will get a lesson for harassing us .

At the early hours of the night we prepared the ship , our plan was to hover over Windrover’s hut as we three go and infiltrate . When the clock struck twelve , we got ready , putting on our gloves , armor and clock . I took my favorite long sword and decided to bring my horse – Breeze along , Anky took his spell book and short sword . Miku took the Swiss clock pendent which could stop time and a katana .

Dido maneuvered the craft over the farmhouse . Miku landed on top of the smith shop . Anky jumped on top of the tiles of the other house , but a gust of wind made him miss his mark and drop beside the house , on a wine barrel . Breeze and I jumped outside the fences . Making haste both of them tried to go inside in search of their targets . We heard a loud scream as the flash light from the airship searched the windows of the house , just like a police chopper chase you might have seen on TV .

Windrover came out of the house in his pajamas followed by his minions , who were carrying swords and shields . Anky and Miku went straight into assault . Their swords were no match for our superior magical items . Our cloaks and hats were harder than their helmets and shields . Miku stopped time while Anky beat them to pulp . Breeze jumped over the fences and kicked two of the warriors in their groins . A final charge by Breeze made them flee like frightened rabbits leaving Mr. Hardhorn with his hand broken .

After an hour of searching we were able to retrieve the chest and took our belongings out of it . The magical dummy gold coins we had put in were now vanished . This made Windrover , with bandages in his hand , cry like a toddler . We felt sad for him , so we gave him the chest and half of the honey in the jar . He in turn gave us much of his coffee and his collection of exotic stamps and vowed not to steal from any passing travelers .

Upon reaching the airship Dido asked us about the chest . I felt glad to have got rid of it .
