Salmon Migration and Hilsa Steak

I had heard that salmons migrate during this time of the year in the northern hemisphere. These sea fishes, triggered by their urge to mate, move inland into fresh water. In these spawning grounds they were born themselves and now they return, for their next generation. These inland water systems are safe from most waterborne predators and hence the baby fishes and eggs are safer. After mating the couple die and are food for the local scavengers, life continues in cycles.
