In a small Neolithic village nestled in the lush greenery of the Nilgiris, a demon asura appeared. His presence was both feared and revered, for his powers were unmatched and his knowledge of magic was unparalleled.

The villagers, in awe of his otherworldly aura, gathered around him as he began to teach them the recipe for biryani. But little did they know, the tamasic ingredients he used would bring out the worst in them. As the villagers consumed the biryani, they felt a sudden surge of violent thoughts and emotions. Their calm and peaceful nature transformed into that of fierce asuras, ready to attack anyone in their path. And their first target was their village zamidarni – Malai, who also happened to be Nilgiri Mahashay’s aunt.

The seeds of chaos and cannibalism

Unaware of the chaos that had ensued, Nilgiri Mahashay rode through the village on his loyal pet emu, adorned in his platinum armor. But he quickly realized that something was amiss as he saw his fellow villagers attacking his beloved aunt. With a heavy heart, he set out to trace the source of this sudden aggression. Following the trail of destruction, Nilgiri Mahashay arrived at an ancient temple in the middle of an arid plateau.

The master astride upon his mount

There, he found a statue of a being, which he believed to be the Ashura king. In a fit of rage, he tried to break it into pieces, but to his surprise, every time he broke a part of it, it would magically repair itself. Frustrated, Mahashay called upon the spirit of Malai, who was still lingering near the village in her afterlife. Together, they discovered that the statue was actually a powerful spell that contained a gem, the souls of the asuras. Mahashay broke the spell, and the souls of the asuras were released into the sky. However, the malicious spirit was now set upon the world, causing chaos and destruction.

As the villagers returned to their senses, they were filled with remorse and regret for their actions. But the damage had already been done. Malai, who had been butchered and consumed as biryani by the villagers, was beyond saving. And the villagers were left to deal with the guilt of their actions. Overcome with remorse, they performed the last rites for Malai and decided to leave the area near the temple. And so, the village around the temple was left deserted, with only the memory of a tragic incident and the lessons learned from it.

The Master took Guyuk to the temple during one of their adventures

But little did they know, Malai’s spirit lived on, as she joined the ranks of the gods in the heavens above. And as for Nilgiri Mahashay, he was hailed as a hero for his bravery and determination in defeating the ancient evil that had threatened their peaceful land.

Zamindari Thali

From that day on, the villagers learned the importance of using pure and sattvic ingredients in their cooking, and the village of the Nilgiris was once again known for its peaceful and harmonious way of life. And the demon asura, who had caused so much chaos and destruction, was never seen or heard from again.
